Moonlit Village Nevada City, CA Limited Edition of 375
This watercolor painting by Local Artist Loana Beeson was inspired by her own imaginings! In her painting, she is showing us how our little town, so like a village, might look when viewed from atop Sugar Loaf Hill. A carriage leads your eye down Coyote Street past the St. Canice Catholic Chuch to the corner of Main Street where warm lights shine out on snowdrifts. In the carriage lovers snuggle beneath down quilts to keep away the cold of a winter night.
No time or era is evident. This could be now or 100 years ago. Prospect Hill across Deer Creek is bathed in moonlight and Victorian houses and cabins covered by yesterday's snowfall are only suggested when viewed from across town. |
