Holiday Greetings 2023

Happy Holidays to all the Art lovers and Artists!  

My husband Al and I have recently moved to Folsom from Nevada County! Oh! how different it all is! But we are learning to like it. Pleasant weather and a nice neighborhood. 

I have continued my art fun! Our Evergreen Art store is open to order prints, ornaments my email is loanab5@gmail.com. Order most anything you might like! 

   I think our neighbors like decorating for holidays just in small front yards! Not big creations but cheerful Inflatable animals as well as comical cartoon characters! From time to time they lay down having lost their air, uninflated!  Soon I will put an old manzanita bush full of my arty ideas and twinkly lights! I Hope?

The pond I like to paint is only down the street so watch for more quick watercolor scenes on this website,...keep watching my website for my new ideas and art work..

Some of my Original paintings will be offered at reason prices this Spring! Keep me in mind when needing a gift or a painting to cheer up your surroundings! 

In 2024 we will expand our horizons in more ways! The future holds lots of Promise with the Valley landscape so varied from Nevada County! Life goes on!

2023 Autumm Update!

This is the loveliest time of year for an artist to wander the countryside and look and find a simple pond with reflections. Recently around Folsom I had the chance to come upon a neighborhood pond. So, it was just so tempting that I grabbed my travel watercolor box and brush and quickly sketched a simple line drawing and a few minutes after I had taken several cellphone photos saw the natural things that make a pond scene interesting. No wildlife was there just then but my artist's license allowed me to add a couple of ducklings and a bunny near a bush for fun and give a size relation to trees and shrubs!  We can choose such when we are in natural settings! An artist needs to pick and choose what works for the composition rather than painting too much! Simplicity works best for most any art piece! I had a wonderful experience painting this morning and plan to try again tomorrow. Rain is forecast so we shall certainly have a gray day and the light will be much different, somber, and wet looking?? So, a challenge to an artist to show a wetness in the habitat that was bright and sunny the day before! Can I, do it? I got to try!

Come on Saturday October 8. And see what I am featuring in my Booth across from park in downtown Sierra City. I will have Notecards, mini paintings on canvas, magnets and a few holiday ornaments. All these items are featuring Loana's watercolor paintings at reasonable prices.

Hello all my art friends and painters of landscapes!

We have the summertime to explore our daily paint ideas. At this time I feel like over the winter and before that the COVID year and half slowed down my artistic drive to just put paint on paper! So now, using my small travel watercolor set of paint, and my favorite big brush, some paper and water, I am letting my brush go wherever my mind's eye takes it. Also just putting wet colors and thinking of desert shapes, Mountains, cactus and distant dusty back roads. All this comes out spontaneously on my wet paper. I am enjoying the sheer pleasure of creative activity. You can do it too so...Go for it!

Wildflower Notecards

I am happy to tell you that there are many new designs of wildflowers available. I am at this time painting and designing many new watercolor paintings of native Nevada County various species of poppies, and other local flowers. 

Currently the wildflower notecards are only available at the local Ben Franklin in the framing department on the local artists rack.
